Chateau Carrosse Martillac Pessac-Leognan 2019

Chateau Carrosse Martillac Pessac-Leognan 2019

Chateau Carrosse Martillac Pessac-Leognan 2019 is a refined Bordeaux displaying poised fruit, gentle spice, and impressive length. Crafted by the Miailhe family with a steadfast commitment to sustainability and parcel-specific winemaking, it stands out among its peers for its respectful approach to terroir and quality. The vintage combines critical appreciation for balance and structure with a story of revival and environmental care, ultimately presenting a wine of true significance from the Pessac-Leognan appellation.

Taste
Displaying a deep cherry red colour with purplish tones, Chateau Carrosse Martillac Pessac-Leognan 2019 is marked by an elegant and reserved bouquet of black fruit, as well as delicate toasted and spicy notes. The palate opens with fresh fruit character, showing moderate tannins that lend both structure and length. Subtle grilled notes combine with density and supple tannins to deliver a wine that is powerful, refined, and harmonious.

Precise parcel-by-parcel vinification and state-of-the-art facilities, including barrel fermentations and 18 months of oak ageing, reflect the pursuit of excellence in every bottle.

Awards & Critic Scores
Chateau Carrosse Martillac Pessac-Leognan 2019 was awared a stunning score of 4.3 by the Vivino community.

Who is the Miailhe family?
The Miailhe family is a distinguished Bordeaux wine family whose roots date back to the 18th century, originally known as wine brokers and négociants. Over generations, they transitioned from brokerage into owning renowned estates across the region, acquiring properties such as Château Coufran, Château Verdignan, Château Siran, and Château Pichon-Lalande. In more recent years, brothers Ghislain and Julien Miailhe revived the family’s historical ties to Martillac by founding Château Carrosse Martillac in 2015, blending tradition with innovation. The family is recognised for environmentally conscious vineyard practices, precise parcel-by-parcel winegrowing, and a dedication to expressing the unique terroir of their estates. Their commitment to quality and responsible stewardship has helped preserve and enhance Bordeaux’s winemaking heritage.
