Chateau Laroze Labatisse Haut-Medoc 2022

Chateau Laroze Labatisse Haut-Medoc 2022

90 Points - Wine Enthusiast. Chateau Laroze Labatisse is a relatively modern estate that builds on ancient winemaking roots. The passion project of GĂ©rard BougĂšs, it started life in 1983 when GĂ©rard decided to develop some family-owned land in Fournas, in the town of Saint Sauveur, just inland from the prized commune of Pauillac. Seeing the land's potential for producing top-flight wines, he began assembling small, high-quality plots and released his first vintage in 1988. Ever the perfectionist, as the vines grew older and Chateau Laroze Labatisse’s reputation spread, so GĂ©rard continued to invest in his vineyards and winery, opening a state-of-the-art winery in 1999. Today, the property is recognised as one of the finest in the Haut-Medoc and in classic vintages such as 2022, the wines are simply delicious.

Vivino Rating: 4.1 (Sept 2025)

Wine Press Ratings

90 Points - Wine Enthusiast (2022 Vintage)

"This is a dense wine, with a black coffee aroma and a solid structure. It has a juicy backdrop with a fine bite of tannins that promises further aging."

Taste

The Chateau Laroze Labatisse bears all the hallmarks of a classic Medoc from a great vintage. From its deep purple body rise aromas of fresh blackberries, cassis, violets, green peppers and earthy spices. The medium-bodied palate is elegant and expressive. Fruits of the forest mingle with plums and savoury notes of toasted vanilla, dusty minerals, and tangy red berries. The ripe tannins are well integrated and as well as adding structure they give it a dryness that means it’s especially well-suited to foods such as cheeses, roasted meats, confit duck, or tomato-rich dishes. Enjoy now and over the next decade.
